Today's #1 grade material is worse in quality
then the #2 of the 1990's. The timber industry
has gravitated to a fast grown pine tree. Only
a select few are Premium #1. This is the board
that Custom Decks, Inc. uses as an exclusive!
After
a series of water repellent treatments, the best
becomes what is called Ultrawood. Ultrawood comes
with a 50 year written warranty against water
absorbtion. It is water repellent! No sealers
needed. Ultrawood takes a variety of stains with
no problem. It simply takes longer to absorb
it. Our #1 Ultrawood is subjected to much tighter
standards of quality and is not a run of
the mill #1 Ultrawood board as used by others.
Our
#1 Premium Select UltraWood is outsourced
for rounded edges, plaining (for extra smoothness)
and sanded. This provides a beautiful splinter-free
product. It is not slippery. All of our materials
meet
all national environmental
requirements and are safe around children and
